BPTC 2011 Mens Premier Team, winners of the ASB Bank Premier InterClub Trophy 2011 Burnside Park Premier Men

The turning point in the 2011 Burnside Park Premier Men’s final win of 5-1 against Waimairi was a gruelling third set win by Burnside Park number one Rob Nunnery over Waimairi's James Spence.  It was a hard fought match with clever net play by Rob Nunnery to take out the third set tie break.  Both teams produced exciting tennis and good sportsmanship prevailed.

BPTC 2011 Womens Premier Team, winners of the ASB Bank Premier InterClub Trophy 2011 Burnside Park Premier Women

The Burnside Park Premier Women’s team, led by Joelene Feneon, won 5-1 against an in-form Hagley Park team.  The top doubles match of Burnside Park's Joelene Feneon and Sian English against Hagley Park’s Michelle North and Beth Williamson went to a close third-set tie break.  Both teams had players of experience and youth which is good for the future of women’s tennis in Canterbury at this top level.
